A cat shelter in Oro-Medonte ravaged by fire is looking for contributions after almost 60 felines were rescued from flames and heavy smoke.
The blaze broke out on Friday when a trash truck captured on fire, infecting the building that homes Street Cats Rescue.
Brave volunteers hurried into the Shanty Bay Road building to rescue the cats, getting 30 of the 56 animals out.
Eventually, all the cats were represented, with some required to the vet suffering smoke inhalation.
The building sustained substantial fire, water and smoke damage, requiring staff to abandon to a short-lived area.
Volunteers and numerous companies have actually considering that used to shelter the displaced cats up until the group determines its next actions.
CONTRIBUTIONS REQUIRED
The shelter is now looking for contributions of canned food, dry food, clumping litter, litter boxes, providers, paper towels, and bleach.
Donations can be dropped off at 2 Barrie areas, inside the vestibule at 1125 Bayfield Street North and in front of the garage at 16 Primrose Crescent.
Street Cats Rescue is a non-profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers.
