One of the Lehigh Valley’s leading animal adoption centers is broadening and prepares to open a cat-only adoption center near Orefield.
In a statement on its social networks, the Sanctuary at Haafsville said it is moving all of its cat rescue and adoption operations to the previous Orefield Veterinary Clinic building at 7209 Kernsville Road, Lowhill Township, and intends to open in mid-June. The center will be called The Sanctuary Cat Adoption Center.
Dog rescue and adoptions will stay at the initial center at 901 Nestle Way in Breinigsville and will be called The Sanctuary Dog Adoption Center. The centers are within about 5 miles of each other.
The Sanctuary Cat Adoption Center will offer more than two times the floorspace and offer much-needed extra room to separate and look after the most susceptible cats and offer a bigger, free-roaming environment for healthy cats.
Work is underway to all set the building.
The Sanctuary at Haafsville, a no-kill center, has actually been running for more than a lots years, conserving over 12,000 animals. The sanctuary partners with shelters that are overcrowded, saves dogs and cats from natural catastrophes, accept dogs and cats from owners who require to relinquish them and works to position animals into brand-new houses.
“It’s very important to understand that in June — our cat and dog operations will be physically separated, but this will only be by distance — not by our animal rescue mission and beliefs, animal care philosophy, or rescue community sense of belonging,” checks out the sanctuary’s Facebook post. “We hope the entire animal loving community will join us in sharing and celebrating this huge milestone within the next chapter of The Sanctuary story.”
