Footage believed to be of a community cat that was thrown off a block in Hougang earlier this week has surfaced.
Jasmine Tan this morning shared on the Hougang Community Cats Facebook group a clip from surveillance footage allegedly of a black cat named Tuxy who was flung off Block 614 in Hougang Avenue 8 on Monday. Animal activists have been calling on the public for any witnesses or information on the tragedy.
“PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! WE MUST FIND THE CULPRIT,” she wrote.
In the clip which happened at around 12:35pm, a black blob can be seen flying downwards.
Tan said Tuxy was fed by a feeder five minutes before the incident happened and speculated that “someone” was “stalking them.” Apparently, Tan said the feeder was “harassed and threatened” by a resident days before the cat was found dead.
She also disputed claims that the feline was run over by a vehicle based on the blood splatter around the cat’s body found at a car park.
The Animal & Veterinary Service has confirmed with Coconuts today that investigations are ongoing and called upon the public to report any suspected cases of animal cruelty via their website or phone 1800-476-1600.
