NAPERVILLE, Ill. (CBS)– It’s an issue we have actually been informing you about for months.

Burglars taking catalytic converters from vehicles throughout the city.

However one rural authorities department is wishing to suppress the thefts.

The Naperville Cops Department wishes to “tat-your-cat” with a recognition number to discourage burglars.

Staff members from Cassidy Tire and Provider will hand paint the ID number free of charge to your catalytic converter.

The occasion runs today from 9 a.m. to midday, near Ogden and Aurora Opportunity.

Individuals needed to sign up ahead to protect an area.
