Cat Deeley may have believed she was searching in the mirror at the Baftas after-party as she coincidentally wore the same dress as Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy, making for a slightly awkward fashion moment.

Following the Bafta awards ceremony on Sunday evening, the stars continued their night at the British Vogue and Tiffany & Co after-party hosted at London’s exclusive members club Annabel’s.

Anya Taylor-Joy, Maya Jama and Jourdun Dunn were among the celebrities who bagged an invite to the hottest party in town and, while mingling and networking, might have thought they were seeing the same person while brushing past Cat and Kate.

TV presenter Cat, 46, arrived on the red carpet shining to the gods in a stunning high-neck and long-sleeved shimmery gold dress from designer brand Carolina Herrera. It was clearly a popular choice as Kate, 23, who is dating former One Direction star Liam, also rocked up wearing the exact same gown.

Despite donning the same outfit, it actually was possible to tell the ladies apart as Cat wore her blonde hair down and finished her look with a gold bag, while Kate – who also has blonde hair – wore hers scraped back in a messy bun and opted for a black clutch to accessorise her outfit.

Cat appeared to leave husband Patrick Kielty at home for the night and cut loose with her longtime showbiz pals June Sarpong and Edith Bowman, making for a noughties reunion we absolutely stan for.

Giving her Instagram followers nostalgia for their childhood television heroes (and ours), Cat shared a snap of the trio giggling while posing for a selfie.

‘Look who we found … @junesarpo @edibow #MTVUK.’

Former BBC Radio 1 presenter Edith, 49, recently recalled her friendship with Cat and their time working at MTV together.

‘It’s really lovely. We started our TV careers together at MTV. We did a radio show together and a travel show,’ Edith told Metro.co.uk.

‘Then she’s been amazingly successful in the States for 12 years, which is a hard time-zone to keep regular contact with – especially with our boys.’

The besties now host the podcast, Friends Will Be Friends, together.

‘So when she moved back, the first thing we talked about was trying to work together again. We came up with the idea of celebrating friendships and we’ve been thrilled by the support from the BBC,’ Edith said of the podcast series.

Meanwhile, Cat’s ‘twin’ Kate attended the Baftas bash with boyfriend Liam on her arm.

The pair have been dating for some months and confirmed their romance in December when they made their first red carpet appearance together at the British Fashion Awards.
