Meet Kizzy, the pensioner moggy who’s finally been found after spending two years on the streets.

Poor Kizzy, who’s a grand old age of 25, was scraping by living off scraps of food.

The cat was finally found by a concerned passer-by in a gutter by the side of a road in Upchurch, Kent, and was taken to an animal rescue centre.

Kizzy, who’s 116 in human years, was malnourished, covered in fleas and couldn’t walk properly because of how long her claws had got.

But she wasn’t microchipped, so an online appeal was put out by Animals Lost and Found in Kent.

Thankfully, Alison Lyng, 48, saw it and recognised her old black and white cat who had gone missing eight miles away in Chatham.

After two years spent apart, she and her husband Dean, 55, were reunited with Kizzy on 21 May.

‘It’s absolutely brilliant to see her again, but what were the chances?’ Alison said.

‘For two years she’s been living with no home and no care.

‘When she was seen in the gutter, the lady first thought Kizzy was dead.

‘She was emaciated, only weighed 2.5kgs, had worms and fleas and couldn’t walk because of her claws.

‘And this is a pet cat, not microchipped, who is 25 years old and has lived in a house and been cared for all of her life.

‘She recognised my husband’s scent and then cried. She’s now relaxing with us and getting plenty of cuddles and treats.’

Natasha McPhee, founder of Animals Lost and Found in Kent, said: ‘It’s just wonderful! It’s amazing.

‘Most cats don’t get to that age indoors let alone outside on their own.’
