An American Airlines flight radioed in an alert about a bird strike to among its engines, minutes prior to it landed at Harry Reid International Airport Saturday, authorities said.
The bird strike impacted the aircraft’s best engine as it was nearing the airport, representative Joe Rajchel said.
American Airlines flight 2845, which had 189 guests aboard, sent an alert stating an emergency situation so that emergency situation cars were all set to react, according to Rajchel.
He said emergency situation cars were sent to the landing location, however the airplane touched down at about 1:10 p.m., without any reported injuries or engine difficulty.
“It landed safely,” he said. “My understanding is that it’s taxiing on its own.”
