British Transport Police officers took a lost dog on a job with them after it left in front of their police car.
Officers took the dog on board while on their method to a call today in Staplehurst, Tonbridge.
Police went to finish the initial job while the lost family pet stayed in the vehicle.
Once they had actually completed their work, officers took the dog to the veterinarians where he was offered food and water.
BTP on Twitter said: “Unfortunately the dog wasn’t chipped so we have been unable to trace an owner.
“However, the vets have taken care of the dog and he will be handed to the dog warden to look after whilst he is rehoused if an owner doesn’t come forward.
“Our thanks to Coxheath vets practice.”
