TORONTO, June 08, 2023 (WORLD NEWSWIRE) — The Canadian Animal Health Institute is enjoyed reveal the winners of the inaugural ‘Cutest Pets on Parliament Hill Contest’.
Parliamentarians, Senators, staffers, and members of the Press Gallery on Parliament Hill, sent more than 65 entries for this year’s contest, with images and some remarkable stories about their cherished animals. A panel of renowned judges then limited the options to the leading 3 animals in each classification, at which time the vote was committed the general public. Touted by Politico as the “Hottest Vote on the Hill”, Canadians cast an overall of 4,024 elect the 9 parliamentary family pet finalists in the 3 fiercely objected to classifications.

Yesterday night, Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees of the Whole Chris d’Entremont signed up with CAHI at the pet-friendly Metropolitain Brasserie in downtown Ottawa to reveal the 2023 Cutest Pets on Parliament Hill, who are:
Cutest Dog: Matteo
Matteo is training to be a treatment dog & wants to pass his evaluations with the Ottawa Humane Society so his human can advise courses as a volunteer and utilize that experience with Matteo to go to schools, health centers, and more.
Seen in his submission picture going to the Animals in War Memorial in Ottawa, Matteo shares his human’s enthusiasm for Law Enforcement, happily sporting his own tactical harness with his name on the back and a maple leaf next to it! He likewise sports a maple leaf flag on the front of all 3 of his tactical harnesses.
Matteo enjoys to teach dog rules at the park and in some cases will defend other dogs & separate battles, so fittingly his harness has a “PAW PATROL” spot to differentiate his service to Canadian pups !!
He is likewise geared up with his own mini-sidearm and handcuffs to reveal that he has his usage of force training; however since he is a good boy, he can constantly diffuse a bad scenario with his compassion and smile!
Matteo wants to one day sign up with the Parliamentary Protective Service constabulary with his human as a treatment dog group to carry out authorities business and supply assistance to any person and everyone on the Hill.
Cutest Cat: Shohei Ohtani
