The cub was discovered in Langley Moor, Durham on Wednesday (May 24) with a note composed on the back of a Greggs wrapper which checked out, “My mum died – help me.”
It’s not understood who put the cub in the provider or composed the note.

RSPCA animal rescue officers gathered the fox and took him to a veterinarians for a check-up where he was offered a tidy expense of health.
Rescue officer Shane Lynn said: “It is heartbreaking what occurred to this poor fox cub, however we are so grateful that he was discovered and is now in a safe location where he can recover.
“It is really sad that he isn’t maturing in the wild with his mum however we are so grateful to all the members of the general public for calling us about him and putting in the time to rescue and save his life.
