AN unidentified hero is being applauded for risking his life to save a sheep which had actually been chased after into the River Wharfe by an out-of-control dog.

Leslie Fowler who was strolling over the bridge at the time and handled to get the pictures stated: “We saw a dog which had actually gotten away from its owner, going after a sheep along the river bank.
