Crews looked out at 12.35pm on Thursday, 27 April to reports of an animal in requirement of help near Bornisketaig.

Operations Control mobilised 3 fire home appliances and a heavy rescue system to the scene, where firemens helped regional partners to bring the cow to safety and the minute was recorded on cam.

Station Commander Nick Nethercott was the Incident Commander at the scene. He said: “The rescue took a number of hours and the animal was handed into the care of the farmer.

“I am happy to state that the cow is at home in her barn and recuperating well with her calf who made its arrival over the weekend.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is a humanitarian organisation and our extremely experienced teams address a vast array of calls to help animals in distress throughout the nation

Our reaction by skilled and equipped firemens can avoid members of the general public from putting themselves in risk by trying to do their own rescue.
