A black panther was killed after being associated with a roadway mishap at Simpang Pertang, Malaysia.
On May 20, Jabatan Netizen Malaysia tweeted that the animal was struck by a car after attempting to cross the roadway at Bukit Tangga.
Hit by multi-purpose vehicle
Jelebu district authorities chief, Maslan Udin, said that the vehicle was driven by a 38-year-old man taking a trip with family from Seremban to Kuala Klawang, reported Bernama.
“As the vehicle was making an ideal refuse the hill, a panther unexpectedly crossed from the ideal side of the roadway, triggering the man to strike the animal as he had no time at all to swerve.”
A video shot from a passing car revealed the panther lying motionless in the middle of the roadway, snarling at the vehicle that came too close.
In another clip, it hopped along the roadway while nursing a hurt left hind leg.
Died in drain
According to the authorities declaration reported by Bernama, the 40kg wild cat managed to make its method to a close-by drain about 4 metres away, where it ultimately passed away.
Its stays were turned over to the Negeri Sembilan Wildlife Protection and National Parks Department (Perhilitan).
Black panthers
Black panthers are native to the tropical jungles of South and Southeast Asia, and the majority of them can be discovered in the Malay Peninsula.
As more manmade structures trespass on their natural environment, these close loved ones of the leopard deal with the increasing threat of environment loss and accident with automobiles.
Organisations such as Panthera work to secure such wild cats and raise awareness of their predicament.
