Popular TV actress Vaibhavi Upadhyay breathed her last on May 23 after she met with a car accident. The incident took place in Himachal Pradesh’s Banjar where she was traveling along with her fiance, Jay Suresh Gandi. Vaibhavi Upadhyay was known for playing the role of Jasmine in the TV show Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. The news of her death was confirmed by the show’s producer, JD Majethia.

VAIBHAVI UPADHYAY PASSES AWAY

Vaibhavi Upadhayay passed away on Tuesday, May 23, morning. She was 32 years old. Her family is now in Chandigarh to bring her mortal remains back to Mumbai. The last rites will take place here on May 24 at around 11 am. Vaibhavi loved to travel quite often. She was in Himachal with her fiance, and both of them met with an accident after their car fell into a valley. Her fiance, Jay, was injured as well but he was saved. They were immediately taken to a hospital in Banjar. The duo was travelling in Jay’s Fortunar car and were exploring Tirthan Valley Road there. At Sidhwa near Banjar, the vehicle went out of control and fell about 50 feet in the valley.

The local people there immediately reached the spot and informed the police. By the time the police saw Vaibhavi in ​​the car, she was already dead. Jay Suresh Gandhi was taken out of the car with the help of local people. DSP Banjar Sher Singh said that the couple was visiting the pilgrimage valley of Banjar when this accident happened to them. A postmortem of Vaibhavi’s body has been handed over to the relatives.

JD MAJETHIA MOURNS VAIBHAVI’S DEATH.

Producer-actor JD Majethia, who worked with Vaibhavi Upadhyay in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai Take 2, confirmed the news on his Instagram stories. He penned an emotional note saying, “Unbelievable that life can be so unpredictable. A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhabi upadhyay very popularly known as “jasmine” of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north and the family will bring her to mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites. Rest in peace vaibhavi (sic).”

Apart from Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Vaibhavi Upadhyay also worked in Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka, digital series Please Find Attached, and also in Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapaak and the 2023 film Timir. She was quite a popular name in the Gujarati theatre circuit.
