Alberta is a 1 year old female Cross-Breed. She is a super sweet dog whose been in foster for 3 months.
Alberta is now fully house-trained. She will only go to the toilet in the garden but hopefully, once her confidence increases this may change.
Alberta is quite nervous and needs lots of reassurance, especially to go out for walks, we use the magic of cheese to help encourage walkies.
Alberta prefers a harness and walks well but will stay close and if frightened or unsure will begin to tremble, her tail is a perfect barometer of how she’s feeling.
It took 2 months before her tail wagged outside and 3 months before she rolled in the grass in the park.
With Alberta, it is baby steps but she has made progress and is a funny daft dog when she feels safe.
Alberta will happily take over your bed if allowed but is equally happy if kept downstairs at night.
Alberta gets on great with her foster sister and will boss her around and demand to play. She now plays fetch in the garden and has a stash of toys that she picks from.
Alberta can be easily frightened by noises, especially cars, fireworks, and kids squealing in the park.
When out walking she will stand and watch other dogs in the park but is not keen to approach, sometimes gets closer to calm dogs but generally keeps her distance, we are hoping to work on this as she looks like she wants to meet them but is too scared.
Alberta eats well and has food puzzles when left alone. She is a lovely dog with so much potential and super gentle nature.
Alberta will make a great companion for someone. Someone who will give her the time to grow in confidence and start to show her true personality.
