Siblings escape fire with 2 dogs, family displaced

MURFREESBORO,Tenn (WSMV) – Two individuals and 2 dogs were saved Thursday from a house fire that left them without a home.

Firefighters reacted to a home in the 5000 block of Roxbury Drive right prior to 3 p.m., where flames and smoke were reported originating from the 2nd story. Crews assaulted the fire and rapidly put it out.

Murfreesboro Fire Marshal Investigators stated an 18-year-old male and his 17-year-old sister left from the home prior to fire teams showed up. The 18-year-old was required to the healthcare facility and dealt with for smoke inhalation and small burns. His sister was not hurt, according to authorities.

The brother or sisters handled to get among their dogs out of the burning home, and firemens saved a 2nd dog. Unfortunately, the family’s cat is still missing out on.

Investigators are still attempting to determine the reason for the fire and stated the examination stays continuous.

Volunteers with the Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross are helping the family after the fire.
