Five- month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Honey, was assaulted by another dog at an off-leash location atHinterland Regional Park
Her owner Ashleigh McDo nald informed 7News that Honey suffered substantial injuries. Her lungs were pierced and her chest was squashed.
By the time Ms McDo nald reached the emergency situation veterinarian center, Honey stopped breathing.
The five-month-old young puppy had actually been dealing with the McDo nald family, while she was being trained to operate at an aged care center.
Ashleigh stated Ms McDo nald was constantly caring and brought a smile to everybody’s face.
Dog attack was ‘extremely facing’
Ashleigh’s dad, Michael McDo nald, informed the Courier Mail she and Honey were at the park practicing the dog’s recall.
When they got here, it was entirely empty, so Ashleigh was comfy with Honey being off-lead.
When another individual concerned the fenced-off location with their dog, Ashleigh felt uneasy and attempted to select Honey up.
The other dog owner assured her their dog was all right. However, the other dog ultimately bit Honey, leading to her disastrous injuries.
“The owners were saying that they were sure Honey was okay and not really injured, but she clearly was so Ashleigh called her mother and they went to the emergency vet but Honey died as they pulled into the driveway,” Mr McDo nald stated.
“To go through that must’ve been very confronting.”

Gold Coast City Council validated to 7News it is examining the occurrence. The other dog or owner has actually not been determined.
